At GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai the world’s largest technology show ACME CEO Mr. S.M. Hussaini was honoured as Technology Personality of the Year, recognising his decade-long leadership in building one of the Middle East’s most decorated IT organisations and his vision for AI-native enterprise transformation.
Technology Personality of the Year is among the most prestigious individual recognitions bestowed at GITEX Global, awarded to leaders who have demonstrably shaped the technology landscape and raised the standard of the industry they operate in. It is not a lifetime achievement award it is a recognition of active leadership impact, evaluated against the contributions, decisions and outcomes of the current period. Mr. Hussaini is the first Bahrain-based CEO to receive this distinction, reflecting both his personal contribution to ACME’s growth and his broader influence on the regional technology ecosystem.
His tenure at ACME has seen the company transform from a traditional IT hardware reseller into a full-spectrum technology integrator operating across cloud, cybersecurity, AI and digital transformation a transition that required not only strategic vision but the operational discipline to build the certifications, partnerships and delivery capability that substantiate it. Under his leadership, ACME has won more than 30 industry awards across vendor, channel and industry categories, and has built partnerships at the highest tier with Microsoft, AWS, Oracle, Google Cloud and others. The company now serves enterprise and government clients across the Gulf region from its Bahrain headquarters, with client footprint extending into Saudi Arabia, the UAE and beyond.
The recognition at GITEX 2024 also reflects Mr. Hussaini’s specific contribution to advancing AI adoption in the GCC market most notably through the establishment of AI@ACME, ACME’s dedicated artificial intelligence practice. His advocacy for practical, outcome-focused AI deployment as distinct from technology experimentation for its own sake has helped shape how GCC enterprise and government organisations approach AI investment and governance.
