Our History

Five decades of
innovation.

From introducing the first computers to Bahrain in 1979 to leading the region's cloud transformation today.

First Decade

1979–1990

The Founding Years

Farouk Almoayyed's vision gave birth to Almoayyed Computers. We introduced WANG Computers and brought document imaging to the region for the first time. Automation was delivered to government bodies, banks and large businesses and we developed Crown, a pioneering core banking solution.

Second Decade

1991–2000

Open Systems Era

We embraced open systems and launched key partnerships with SUN Microsystems, Oracle, Microsoft, NCR, Compaq and Bay Networks. ACME developed proprietary IPs including Archive, Open Financials, a Money Markets & FOREX system, a Health Information System and an Automobile Dealership Management Solution acquiring customers across the Middle East, Africa and India.

Third Decade

2001–2010

Systems Integration Leader

ACME evolved from open systems vendor to full Systems Integrator creating the strongest SI ecosystem in the country by onboarding HP, Cisco, VMware, Citrix and more. We launched niche solutions for postal management, meter reading, LMS, e-libraries, campus management and smart classrooms, while building a large Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics ERP customer base.

Fourth Decade

2011–2020

Cloud Transformation Pioneer

Recognised as a Top 10 Systems Integrator in the Middle East. ACME became the first ME-based AWS reseller and the first to complete AWS's Cloud Transformation Program with case studies published on the AWS global website. We launched the region's first Hybrid IT practice and a full Managed Services portfolio. During COVID-19, ACME enabled Work From Home for the Government of Bahrain as an emergency measure, revamping the entire Ministry of Health network at the height of the pandemic.

Fifth Decade

2021–Present

AI, Global Reach & Recognition

Award-winning across Cloud & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, Microsoft & AWS, Technology Innovation, and Government & Industry Recognition. ACME established ACME Global in India as a support hub and formed AACS, a joint venture in Kuwait, expanding regional reach. We launched AI@ACME a dedicated AI practice led by CEO S.M. Hussaini alongside proprietary applications StaffDynamics, FirstTrack and PayDynamics. Remote managed services now extend across the wider Middle East.
